Reporting to the Director, Global Sanctions, the Senior Manager contributes to the overall success of the Global Sanctions & Screening (GSS) Policies & Procedures unit by ensuring specific individual goals, plans, and initiatives are executed/delivered in support of the unit and the business strategies and objectives of the GSS team. This position ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies, and procedures.
Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:

Provide input (Including appropriate text revisions) into the development and periodic update of the the AML/ATF & Sanctions Policy and the Enterprise ML/TF and Sanctions Risk Appetite Statement based on changes in internal processes, regulatory developments, industry best practices, and external events.

Be responsible for the custody, maintenance, development, and obtaining approval of GSS-owned sanctions compliance program documents, including the Enterprise Sanctions Risk Management Standards guidance papers, and framework documents.

Execute various activities in support of the maintenance development, and implementation of the enterprise sanctions compliance program, including:
-
Presenting key program changes to senior leadership for approval.

Supporting stakeholders in assessing the scope and impact of changes in program elements and resolving implementation challenges.

Acting as the primary point of contact for inquiries related to the interpretation and application of program documents.

Assessing, actioning, and tracking requests for exceptions to sanctions-related requirements under the AML/ATF & Sanctions Policy and the Enterprise Sanctions Risk Management Standards; and

Supporting the GSS Training & Communications Lead, as needed, in developing training and related tools/guidance to facilitate the effective implementation of the program.

Maintain a framework to support the ongoing management and operation of the GSS Policies & Procedures unit, including desktop procedures for the unit, an internal inventory of GSS-owned documents, and a tracker to ensure the timely update of those documents.

Draft responses to Internal Audit and external regulators on inquiries relating to the GSS Policies & Procedures function.

Contribute to the content of Senior/Executive Management reporting relating to the GSS Policies & Procedures function.

Keep informed of matters relevant to the GSS Policies & Procedures function, including changes in applicable regulatory requirements.

Build strong partnerships with Business Lines, Internal Audit, and other key internal and external stakeholders, and work collaboratively across functional teams.

Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.

Provide leadership, direction, management, and coaching to ensure the unit’s accountabilities are met.

A Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant discipline with a minimum of five years of policy and procedure experience, or other related experience in a financial institution setting.

Highly detail-oriented with advanced analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills together with strong presentation skills.

Solid organization, planning, time management, and reporting skills.

Results-oriented, highly motivated with a keen ability to influence others.

People management experience and coaching skills.

Working knowledge of Canadian and U.S. AML/ATF and economic sanctions laws, regulatory standards, and industry best practices.

Skilled proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and other related productivity tools.

Working knowledge of financial services sector business, products, operations, and systems.
-
AML/ATF/sanctions-related professional designation (e.g., CAMS, CGSS, CSS) is an asset.
