The Advisor, Functional Support plays a key role in designing, configuring, and sustaining scalable Power Platform solutions that enable efficient business operations and support strategic initiatives. Working closely with Business Analysts, Technology & Information Services (TIS), and business stakeholders, this role translates business requirements into secure, high-performing platform configurations while championing a “configuration over customization” approach. The Advisor also ensures platform stability across environments, supports releases, manages security and access, and leads the resolution of platform-related issues impacting end users.

What You Will Do:

  • Partner with Business Analysts, TIS, and business stakeholders to translate business requirements into scalable, maintainable Power Platform configuration solutions.

  • Leverage advanced knowledge of Power Platform tools (e.g., Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, Dataverse) to design innovative solutions that improve business processes and user experience.

  • Identify opportunities to enhance existing Power Platform tools, configurations, and processes to improve performance, usability, and sustainability.

  • Oversee the setup, configuration, and management of development, testing, and production environments, ensuring optimal performance, security, and scalability.

  • Function as a system steward and subject matter expert on Power Platform capabilities, promoting best practices and configuration-first solutions.

  • Support release management activities, including deployments, data updates, and coordination across teams to ensure smooth transitions.

  • Manage user access and security roles, enforcing segregation of duties and compliance with audit and governance requirements.

What you have:

  • Related university degree and five years’ experience OR seven years of previous field or work management operations experience, OR equivalent mix of formal education and experience

  • Strong functional experience supporting enterprise applications, preferably within Microsoft Power Platform. (PowerApps, Power Automate, and Power BI)

  • Demonstrated experience translating business requirements into scalable system configurations.

  • Experience supporting production systems, incident management, and release cycles.

  • Strong understanding of system security, access controls, and compliance requirements.

  • Proven ability to collaborate across business, technical, and operational teams.

Preferred:

  • In depth experience with Operations, TIS and/or Technical training at GDS

  • Broad understanding of GDS’s Work Management and Asset systems and business processes.

  • Experience with Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, and Dataverse in a production environment.

  • Experience supporting integrations, error management frameworks, and data quality initiatives.

Physical Requirements include but are not limited to:

Grasping, kneeling, light – moderate lifting (objects up to 20 pounds), reaching above shoulder, repetitive motion, typing, sitting, standing, visual requirement (able to see screens, detect color coding, read fine print), hearing requirement and the ability to sit at a computer for long periods of time.

Salary:

  • Ranges from $81,090 – $110,000 USD for US locations based upon candidate’s experience, skills, and internal equity. ​

  • Ranges from $81,090 – $110,000 CAD for Ontario Canada locations based upon candidate’s experience, skills, and internal equity.​

  • Applicable compensation policies and guidelines apply to internal candidates.​
