Purpose
As part of the International & Global Transaction Banking Communications (IGTB) team at Scotiabank, the Assistant Manager, Communications plays a key role in supporting internal communications initiatives that drive employee engagement, enhance leadership visibility, and promote strategic priorities across our international footprint.
IGTB is a strong and diverse business serving over 12 million Retail, Corporate, and Commercial clients with a presence in 15+ countries, including Mexico, Chile, Peru, Colombia, and various markets in the Caribbean and Central America. This role supports communications across this broad and dynamic network, requiring a creative and detail-oriented communicator with strong technical skills in video production, design, writing and photography, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:
- Support the development and execution of internal communications strategies aligned with IGTB priorities, ensuring alignment with broader Scotiabank strategy and brand guidelines.
- Produce high-quality visual and multimedia content including videos, photography, presentations, and digital assets for internal campaigns, events, and social media.
- Lead the end-to-end production of internal videos: scripting, filming, editing, animation, and post-production.
- Design branded materials for internal events, campaigns, and digital platforms, ensuring consistency and visual impact.
- Collaborate with senior leaders and cross-functional teams to deliver engaging communications such as announcements, newsletters, town halls, executive and presentations.
- Coordinate internal events including invitations, asset production, agendas, reporting, surveys and post-event communications.
- Development and delivery/distribution of communications across owned platforms, measuring success and engagement.
- Ensure all communications are culturally relevant and linguistically accurate for our audiences across Canada, Latin America, and the Caribbean.
- Maintain editorial and content calendars, ensuring timely delivery of communications across channels.
- Continuously update KPIs and performance reports for communications initiatives, including but not limited to events, announcements, and quarterly reviews.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of communications processes and tools, staying current with industry best practices.
Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We’d love to work with you if you have:
- Degree in Communications, Journalism, Media Production, Graphic Design, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 2–5 years of experience in internal or corporate communications, preferably in a financial services environment.
- Fluency in Spanish and English (written and spoken) – essential for supporting international markets.
- Strong video production skills: filming, editing (Adobe Premiere Pro), animation (Adobe After Effects), and post-production.
- Proficiency in graphic design tools (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Illustrator, Photoshop, PowerPoint) for presentations, event materials, and digital content.
- Experience in photography and photo editing for corporate use.
- Exceptional writing abilities and storytelling skills, with a sharp editorial eye and attention to detail.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative mindset, with comfort engaging with senior leaders. Foster a collaborative team environment and contribute positively to group dynamics and shared goals.
- Proven project management skills and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
