The Role: As a member of our CPA Training Program at IGM, you will be joining a highly supportive group with experience in and passion for helping others develop and succeed.
In this role, you will work in a minimum of two rotational departments, developing and enhancing your CPA competencies. Potential departments include Internal Audit, Compliance, Risk, Financial Reporting, Expense Analysis & Reporting, Advanced Financial Planning, and Corporate Taxation. Rotations are generally 12-15 months long.
Key Responsibilities:
Your duties will vary based on your rotational department, and may include:
- Preparing, reviewing, and analyzing various financial and management plans and reports, as well as identifying impacts to guidelines and analyzing variances.
- Analyzing investment portfolios to ensure appropriate regulatory thresholds are met.
- Analyzing policies and processes with a focus on ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Assessing reporting processes/systems and recommending improvements based on stakeholder needs
- Participating in review/analysis of key operational or performance issues and alignment to strategy.
- Participating in the process to identify, assess and monitor risks of the entity.
- Designing/updating and performing control testing procedures and/or compliance reviews and evaluating the results.
- Arranging corporate tax returns or drafting sections of personal tax returns to provide estimates for tax strategies and opportunities.
- Researching tax issues related to the organization and consultant inquires and drawing related conclusions.
Required Qualifications:
- You will have completed, or nearly completed, your degree as well as the CPA Professional Education Program (PEP) prerequisite courses.
- You are available for full-time work.
- You have strong communication skills and an ability to work well both independently and in a team environment.
- You are self-motivated with the ability to prioritize time-sensitive deadlines.
- You have intermediate level skills in MS Excel, including comfort with some more advanced formulas/functions.
- You are proficient in MS Word and PowerPoint.
Additional Beneficial Qualifications:
- You are able to speak and write in French
- You have experience using AI tools and are comfortable integrating AI use into your work.
The expected annual base salary for this role is $60,000 which is determined based on skills, knowledge and experience and geographic location. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for annual short-term incentive, health and well-being benefits, retirement and savings plan, paid time off and career development.
