Role Overview: 

 

The Director, IG Wealth Connect plays a pivotal leadership role within the IG Wealth Connect channel, which delivers trusted financial planning, advice, and overall financial well‑being solutions to Canadians.

Reporting to the Assistant Vice President, IG Wealth Connect, you will lead, coach, and develop a high‑performing team of Advisors who provide comprehensive financial planning—including investments, mortgages, banking, and insurance—alongside exceptional client service for an existing client base.

This role is accountable for advisor engagement and productivity, sustained business growth, and delivering consistent, high‑quality client outcomes. You will shape culture, drive performance, and ensure service excellence while aligning execution to the broader IG Wealth Management strategy.

 

Responsibilities:

Client Service & Advisor Experience

  • Lead and inspire a team of Advisors to consistently deliver exceptional, personalized client service and exceed client expectations through holistic financial planning.
  • Ensure service standards are met and sustained throughout both the client transition process and ongoing client relationships.
  • Foster a strong culture of compliance, risk management, and professional integrity by ensuring adherence to regulatory, procedural, and divisional policies.
  • Champion a respectful, inclusive, and diverse workplace aligned with IG’s values and respectful workplace standards.

Business Growth, Planning & Execution

  • Drive long‑term business growth by aligning advisor activity to strategic priorities and successful client outcomes.
  • Utilize reporting, analytics, and business insights to identify growth opportunities and support advisors in expanding and deepening client relationships.
  • Organize and lead the team to achieve key performance goals, balancing sales excellence, financial planning quality, and client experience.
  • Identify opportunities to improve business processes and service delivery and lead the implementation of change initiatives in partnership with senior leadership.

Coaching, Performance & Talent Development

  • Recruit, onboard, and retain high‑performing Advisors in partnership with Talent Acquisition, with a focus on service excellence and financial planning capability.
  • Provide regular, structured coaching, mentoring, and performance feedback to support advisor development, engagement, and career progression.
  • Support Advisors in client meetings, as required, to model best practices and reinforce planning and relationship‑management excellence.
  • Lead the annual performance management cycle, including goal setting, development planning, performance reviews, and ongoing progress discussions.

Digital Enablement & Change Leadership

  • Drive the adoption and effective use of IG Wealth Management’s digital platforms and tools, including Living Plan Portal (LPP) and other advisor technologies, to enhance client experience and business results.
  • Lead change initiatives that improve efficiency, consistency, and service quality across the Advisor team

 

Qualifications:

  • 7–10 years of experience in the financial services industry.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in people leadership, coaching, and performance management.
  • Post‑secondary degree in business or a related field.
  • IFIC Mutual Fund License, Canadian Securities Course, or equivalent insurance licensing preferred.
  • Professional financial services designations preferred (e.g., CFP, CLU, CFA, CA, CMA).
  • Broad experience across mutual funds, mortgages, and/or insurance products.
  • Proven track record as a performance‑driven leader with strengths in sales leadership, coaching, and financial planning excellence.
  • Strong proficiency with digital tools, including Microsoft Office, Advisor Portal (Salesforce), and Living Plan Portal (Conquest).
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal

 

The expected annual base salary range for this role is 115,000 – 157,000, which is determined based on skills, knowledge and experience and geographic location. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for annual performance-based incentive.
