DEPARTMENT SUMMARY: Our industry leading wealth operations area is looking for a highly motivated, committee and knowledgeable individual to join our Tax Reporting Team. At IG Wealth Management, we are committed to attracting and growing motivated individuals who are looking to further develop their leadership skills and be committed to our clients. The Tax Reporting team is responsible for the compliant oversight of the collection, administration, reconciliation and remittance of taxes to regulatory bodies and production and accuracy of client tax receipts and tax based project deliverables related to these functions.
POSITION SUMMARY: As key leadership role in the department, the successful candidate will be responsible for their area and interacting with other areas of the division to drive forward organization excellence. The Wealth Operations Tax Manager is responsible providing direction and coaching in support of meeting event deadlines. The Manager must be knowledgeable in the tax functions, tax bodies regulations and regulatory changes impacting tax deliverables and participate in strategic initiatives impacting tax deliverables.
DUTIES INCLUDE:
- Lead: Inclusive communication channels for corporate, divisional and team strategies, objectives and purpose
- Develop shared team understanding and identity
- Create relationships with team members, peers and leaders in the corporate community
- Promote a learning environment fostering creativity, curiosity and ownership focused on individual development
Business Management:
- Review regulatory bulletins, industry circulators and participate in industry led tax initiatives
- Accurate application of tax rules in practice, policies and procedures
- Ability to analyze situations, diagnosis problems, develop and implement creative solutions while identifying the upstream/downstream impacts. Integrate continuous improvements in an effective, precise and efficient manner
- Challenge and report on business service and quality measurements and key performance indicators
Project Engagement:
- Proven advanced project management skills to lead tax-based project deliverables
- Analyze, assess and recommend actions for competing project priorities influencing project realization
- Provide extensive support to complex tax issues and escalate to management when required
- Participate in projects and manage business process improvement initiatives
- Participate in strategic product development initiative for tax readiness activities
Career coaching:
- Ability to coach, train, and motivate employees and evaluate their performance
- Create job enrichment, growth opportunities for career progression and team effectiveness
- Mentor and support individual development plan
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum 5 years in tax related area with formal leadership and client service experience
- Completion of post-secondary degree in a relevant business discipline
- Excellent written and verbal influential communication skills
- Strong organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail
- Progressive mindset to drive the business and employees’ success
- Continuous learning and change management leader experience
The expected annual base salary range for this role is $65,500 – $81,500, which is determined based on skills, knowledge and experience and geographic location.
