Job Description

MLSE is seeking a highly motivated Data Developer to join the Digital Labs team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing data solutions to support our data-driven decision making. You will be a key player in building and maintaining our data infrastructure, ensuring the flow of accurate and reliable data for analysis and reporting.

Responsibilities:

  • Lakehouse:
    • Develop and maintain data sets using dbt, transforming raw data into clean, consistent, and usable formats.
    • Utilize MS SQL, PostgreSQL, S3 Data Lake, Athena and Redshift to build and optimize data pipelines.
    • Design and implement data models for efficient data storage and retrieval.
    • Collaborate with data engineers to ensure data quality and consistency.
  • Power BI Reporting:
    • Design and develop interactive Power BI reports, dashboards, and visualizations to communicate complex data insights effectively.
    • Translate business requirements into clear, concise, and actionable reports.
    • Implement advanced features like calculated columns, measures, and DAX formulas.
  • Database Administration:
    • Manage and maintain SQL Server instances in an AWS cloud environment and on premise.
    • Perform routine backups, restores, and performance optimizations.
    • Implement security best practices to protect sensitive data.
    • Troubleshoot and resolve SQL Server issues efficiently.
  • Additional Responsibilities:
    • Collaborate with data analysts and business users to understand their needs and translate them into technical solutions.
    • Document data pipelines, reports, and processes clearly and concisely.
    • Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and trends in the data analytics space.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience developing and maintaining data pipelines (dbt, Python scripting)
  • Experience working within an orchestration tool (Airflow, Dagster, Prefect)
  • Strong proficiency in SQL (MS SQL, PostgreSQL, Redshift, Athena)
  • Experience building Power BI reports and dashboards
  • Understanding of data warehousing and cloud platforms (AWS)
  • Experience with data modeling and data quality practices
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Problem-solving and analytical skills
