Job Description
MLSE is seeking a highly motivated Data Developer to join the Digital Labs team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing data solutions to support our data-driven decision making. You will be a key player in building and maintaining our data infrastructure, ensuring the flow of accurate and reliable data for analysis and reporting.
Responsibilities:
- Lakehouse:
- Develop and maintain data sets using dbt, transforming raw data into clean, consistent, and usable formats.
- Utilize MS SQL, PostgreSQL, S3 Data Lake, Athena and Redshift to build and optimize data pipelines.
- Design and implement data models for efficient data storage and retrieval.
- Collaborate with data engineers to ensure data quality and consistency.
- Power BI Reporting:
- Design and develop interactive Power BI reports, dashboards, and visualizations to communicate complex data insights effectively.
- Translate business requirements into clear, concise, and actionable reports.
- Implement advanced features like calculated columns, measures, and DAX formulas.
- Database Administration:
- Manage and maintain SQL Server instances in an AWS cloud environment and on premise.
- Perform routine backups, restores, and performance optimizations.
- Implement security best practices to protect sensitive data.
- Troubleshoot and resolve SQL Server issues efficiently.
- Additional Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with data analysts and business users to understand their needs and translate them into technical solutions.
- Document data pipelines, reports, and processes clearly and concisely.
- Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and trends in the data analytics space.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience developing and maintaining data pipelines (dbt, Python scripting)
- Experience working within an orchestration tool (Airflow, Dagster, Prefect)
- Strong proficiency in SQL (MS SQL, PostgreSQL, Redshift, Athena)
- Experience building Power BI reports and dashboards
- Understanding of data warehousing and cloud platforms (AWS)
- Experience with data modeling and data quality practices
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Problem-solving and analytical skills
