The Director is liable for the overall credit quality of a designated portfolio for International Wealth Management loans and to collaborate on judicious policy/growth programs.
Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:

Fosters a customer focused culture throughout their team to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge;

Collaborates with International Private Banking on transactions and risk appetite topics, and contributes to development, training, and fostering a risk culture within the business line;
-
Collaborates with International Private Banking on initiatives to streamline International Wealth Management policies/processes and identify judicious growth opportunities /programs.

Adjudicates on credits within assigned limits (as a designated Credit Officer), provides recommendations for over limit / out-of-policy deals to the Senior Credit Committee, and authorizes waivers, amendments and non-standard documentation.

Works with local credit units / International Wealth Management teams in providing advice and counsel or feedback towards atypical transactions as required.

Ensures well founded and profitable growth in the Wealth Management credit portfolios by:

Providing sound and timely decisions on applications for credit, within assigned lending limits, through thorough analysis with suitable structure, pricing, conditions, and security stipulated;

Contributing to the development and implementation of lending policies and strategies; and
-
Being alert to other market opportunities.

Ensures that the existing portfolio is maintained at a level of acceptable quality and risk by:

Monitoring the assigned portfolio and approved credits on a geographic, industry, and customer / product basis, ensuring adherence to condition of credit, identifying issues and taking remedial action in a timely manner;

Ensuring early identification and sound administration of weak and unsatisfactory accounts
-
Alerting management to unsatisfactory trends and recommending suitable courses of action; and,
-
Monitoring adherence to regulatory and internal policies as applicable.

Assists in the greater development of the Bank by undertaking completion of sundry duties, including:

Participating in due diligence exercises with respect to potential acquisitions;

Completing special projects as required.

Directs day-to-day activities in a manner consistent with the Bank’s risk culture and the relevant risk appetite statement and limits. Reinforces the Bank’s risk culture and risk appetite statement throughout their teams.

Fosters an environment in which their team effectively and efficiently manages their assigned portfolios while adhering to day-to-day business controls with respect to operational risk, regulatory compliance risk, AML/ATF risk and conduct risk.

Contributes to a high performance environment and people strategy that attracts, retains, develops and motivates their team by fostering an inclusive work environment; informing vison/values/business strategy and managing succession and development planning for the team.
Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We’d love to work with you if you have experience with:

Broad credit background and 5-10 years of lending experience (IPL structuring is an asset);

Fluent in Spanish given geographic scope of the team.

Excellent analytical skills;

Excellent management skills;

Excellent verbal and written communication skills;

Knowledge of workout situations;

Strong computer skills;
-
Awareness of competitor practices, economic and business trends;

Business degree and/or well diversified background in Banking. An MBA/CA designation would be an asset;
