Contributes to the overall success of the Enterprise Delivery Office Cybersecurity and IT Risk Portfolio ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives.  Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.

 

Is this role right for you? In this Role, you will:

 

  • We are seeking a dynamic individual to manage large and complex initiatives exceeding $20 million.
  • Possesses extensive IT project management and Agile experience.
  • Must demonstrate proficiency in end-to-end execution.
  • Strong financial acumen with extensive experience leading IT execution/development estimation and forecasting.
  • Velocity-focused, adept at preventative issue management and proactive planning resulting in minimal risks/issues, and proactive in their problem-solving strategies.
  • Strong relationship management skills, particularly with C-level suite executives, and a highly collaborative approach with multiple stakeholders.
  • Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
  • Program Delivery: Manage the successful delivery of Program delivery oversight, roadmap strategy, business case creation, risk mitigation, Project, and Operational financial planning and KPI reporting, ensuring alignment with business goals and timelines.
  • Lead effective Program-level reporting in alignment with the defined program governance structure to ensure risks, decisions and mitigation plans for initiatives are properly communicated.
  • Partner with the Portfolio Governance teams in prioritization / planning exercises for all application and security programs.
  • Project engagements crossing multiple organizational and geographic boundaries and often involves external suppliers and contractors.
  • Work collaboratively with peer IT Portfolio Directors and VPs to ensure alignment on strategy, cross program dependencies, risk and issues.
  • Present the state of their Portfolio in regular and ad hoc cadence to VPs / SVP, business partners and ad hoc at the EVP level.
  • Strong analytical Business Case writing skills coupled with the ability to sell/gain funding approval from the multiple line of business CIOs/CFOs.
  • Preventative issue management and planning resulting in minimal risks/issues through the project delivery cycles.
  • Navigating complex, enterprise environments with multiple stakeholders.
  • Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
  • Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of their respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role?

 

  • 10+ years of hands-on working experience in IT Project Management
  • 5+ years of hands-on working experience in leading diverse and global teams across geographies & time zones.
  • Excellent communication (verbal/written/presentation) skills in English.
  • Demonstrate effective influence and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent analytical, strategic conceptual / critical thinking, thought leadership, strategic planning and project delivery/execution skills.
  • Experience delivering excellent results in a large, complex and global environment with a mix of emerging, current and legacy technology. 
  • PMP in good standing
