Job Description
As an Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Intern, you will have the opportunity to contribute to initiatives and programs to build an inclusive culture, gaining hands-on experience in EDI strategic execution.
MLSE’s Internship term dates are from September 8, 2025 – December 19, 2025
- Contribute to building equitable policies and practices that create an inclusive workplace for all employees.
- Contribute to the implementation of priorities outlined in the MLSE Indigenous ReconciliAction Plan focused on advancing right relations with Indigenous peoples.
- Contribute to programming that drives engagement and fosters an open, ‘safe to speak-up’ culture, for example, the EDI Speaker Series.
- Support the implementation of EDI strategic initiatives and programs to create equitable opportunities for all, including underrepresented groups.
- Assist in supporting Employee Inclusion Group (EIG) programming and activities.
- Assist with project execution tasks including scheduling, coordinating meetings, communications, and tracking and reporting project status.
- Contribute to ideas on effective ways to advance cultural awareness learning.
- Assist with project expenses, ensuring budget approval and invoicing, and resolving all unpaid expenses.
- Maintain effective and efficient relationships with internal and external stakeholders to successfully implement EDI initiatives.
- Build active employee champions and advocate for inclusion and belonging through relationships with all business departments.
- Attend EDI and People & Inclusion department meetings.
Qualifications

- Currently enrolled in a post-secondary program in Equity Studies (for example, Indigenous, Gender, Race & Ethnic), Social Sciences, Public Policy, and/or Business Administration.
- Shows a keen curiosity about advancing Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion.
- Expert in Microsoft Office Products (Word, PowerPoint, Excel); comfortable providing updates to senior leadership in PPT, using data insights acquired through Excel.
- Strong communication skills (verbal, written, and visual) with the ability to collaborate with partners across all levels.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Highly organized with the ability to work on multiple projects/programs with tight deadlines.
- Creative approach, thinks in an unexpected way, and passionate about employee experience.
- Accountable for the accuracy and timeliness of work within the department.
- Personal integrity when handling confidential information.
- Previous internship or work experience in any of the above-listed areas of study is an asset.
