The role:
Canadian Banking Engineering & Operations team is seeking an experienced Power Platform Developer to join our highly collaborative Product and Technology team. This role focuses on designing and implementing solutions using the Microsoft Power Platform to drive innovation and improve business processes. The candidate will combine technical expertise with strategic insight to deliver impactful solutions that align with organizational goals. The role requires involvement in all software lifecycle phases from inception to support including retirement of legacy applications while following the Bank’s framework and policies. The incumbent will work with the Business to find and document requirements, set reasonable project timelines, document resource needs, risks, and project scope
What will you do?
- Design applications or services within the organization using Power Platform: Power Apps, Power Automate, Copilot Studio, Power Pages, AI Builder, Dataverse, Power Platform Connectors
- Produce clean, maintainable, and efficient code based on defined specifications
- Component Framework components to extend Power Apps functionality
- Design and implement custom plugins and logic within Power Platform using C# and .NET.
- Develop and deliver high quality deliverables across all phases of a project, from taking part in the requirements, design and build phases through to post-implementation support.
- Assist with planning and execution of unit, integration, and user acceptance testing.
- Ensure delivery of solutions within the structured timeframe.
- Assist in the identification of enhancements to the core base product.
- Provide technical ability and ownership of technical solutions.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of our application development lifecycle
- Provide recommendations on standards surrounding systems architecture, application development, systems integration, data modelling, and testing.
- Collaborate and team up with product owners, technology team, and colleagues. Continual focus on Customer success.
- Perform reviews and walkthroughs of all major project deliverables to ensure the quality and completeness of functionality, meeting high availability, integrity, and reliability requirements.
- Keep current on rapidly changing technological trends, self-teach innovative technologies and keep an understanding of the Division’s business and technology strategies.
- Provide thought-leadership across business and technical project dimensions, solving complex business requirements.
- Mentor and train peer group on key technology/functionality
- Provide technical expertise, guidance, advice, and knowledge transfer to all development staff on all aspects of application development for assigned applications or technology.
- Provide production and user acceptance testing application support to complex technical problems on all assigned applications and technology that serve each business unit by analyzing problems, implementing solutions, and developing new procedures surrounding support.
What do you need to succeed?
- A degree in computer science, math or engineering related discipline is desirable, along with 3 – 5 years practical experience
- Microsoft Power Platform Development Certifications
- Experience with service-oriented, event-driven, and microservices architectures
- Experience with MS SQL, Dataverse data stores
- Experience with software development project tools and defect tracking systems like Azure DevOps
- Experience with high-level UX principles such as user stories, persona building, prototype/prototype development approaches
- Knowledge of agile software development lifecycles (SDLC) and Agile Scrum methodology
- CI/CD using ADO pipeline or Git actions
- Experience with API-based integration development
- Must have: Power Apps, Power Automate, Copilot Studio, Graph connectors, Power Platform Connectors, API plugins, Azure Functions and Logic Apps, GitHub, Azure DevOps
- Proficiency in PCF, plugin development, and custom connectors.
- Strong experience with Azure Managed Identity, VNET integration, and secure cloud architecture.
- Good understanding of cryptographic protocols, OAuth, mTLS, and OpenSSL.
- Proficiency in JavaScript, TypeScript, C#, .NET, and React.
- Experience in analysis, design, development, and application deployment of medium to large-scale enterprise solutions
- Strong Object-Oriented design and coding experience
- Highly analytical, the individual can quickly understand how various elements relate to one another, having an end-to-end perspective of decisions and anticipating issues/roadblocks
- Ability to meet and manage tight and changing deadlines and priorities
- Creative and flexible in identifying technical solutions to resolve business problems in a rapidly changing, demanding business environment.
- Excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills to deliver proposals, provide user support and interact with team members and other departments.
- Ability to develop an advanced knowledge of Solution Architecture quickly and independently and all design and implementation features.
- Flexible and adaptable, the individual will be open to learning new methodologies, tools, platforms, and systems.
- Solid customer focus skills to discern underlying client needs and foresee opportunities to enhance level of service and increase solution’s scalability
