Purpose
- Are you interested in a role that allows you to learn about and work with our different business lines, corporate functions and other stakeholders across Scotiabank’s global footprint, while enabling an enterprise-wide Records and Information Management Program?
- Reporting to the Director, Enterprise Regulatory Programs, the Senior Manager Records and Information Management supports the implementation and execution of the global Records & Information Management (RIM) Program in order to facilitate effective and efficient information management across Scotiabank in accordance with legal, regulatory and internal business requirements.
Accountabilities
- Take a leading role in working with Technology, Business Lines and Corporate Functions to enable people, process and technology to facilitate mature digital records management for both structured and unstructured data
- Develop, maintain and implement RIM related policies, procedures, processes and other supporting documentation to enable RIM Program compliance, particularly with respect to integration between the Regulatory Compliance Management (RCM) framework and RIM Program
- Maintain and update the Enterprise Retention Schedule to ensure alignment with business, regulatory and legal requirements
- Develop and manage strong relationships with Business Lines and Corporate Functions in support of their efforts to adhere to RIM Program requirements
- Develop, maintain and implement RIM related policies, procedures, processes and other supporting documentation to enable RIM Program compliance
- Support other RIM Program initiatives in relation to records inventories, reporting, training, industry involvement, advisory and program development, compliance pillars, policies and procedures, and paper and digital record management.
- Assist the Director with other Enterprise Regulatory Programs responsibilities, as required, to fulfill the team’s mandate and comply with Regulatory Compliance Management and RIM requirements
- Creates an environment in which the team pursues effective and efficient operations of their respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.

- Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions
Education/Experience
- BA or Postgraduate degree with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in Records and Information Management, Regulatory Compliance, Operations or process-oriented roles.
- Experience with digital records management requirements and capabilities, including design/implementation and adoption of technology solutions and supporting BAU processes
- Familiarity with records technology requirements, business requirement development and technology lifecycle deployment to enable digital records management capability implementation would be an asset
- 3+years’ experience in a records and information management or information governance role would be an asset
- Knowledge of records and information management industry standards, best practices, methodologies, and frameworks would be an asset.
- 3+ years’ experience developing, implementing, and managing similar large-scale, cross-functional organizational change initiatives would be an asset
- Experience and knowledge of change management, communications and learning principles, methodologies, and tools.
- Solid understanding of financial institutions, infrastructures, and markets
