Are you a detail-driven technical writer and document governance professional who thrives at the intersection of engineering, compliance, and collaboration? The Document Governance group is seeking a Technical Standards Coordinator to play a pivotal role in developing and maintaining a robust suite of technical and engineering standards and specifications. In this role, you will partner closely with Subject Matter Experts and business stakeholders to ensure these documents are clear, compliant, and fit for purpose supporting our mandate to deliver safe, competitive, and reliable outcomes across the organization.
What you will do:

Project-manage the creation, review, revision, and change processes for assigned engineering design standards, equipment specifications, standardized designs, and construction specifications using structured, multi-stage review methodologies.

Partner with SMEs to shape technical content, applying your understanding of standards structure to ensure documents are clear, concise, cohesive, and aligned with organizational requirements.

Administer Technical Standards Change Requests and Deviation Requests through Jira and manage Document Management of Change processes within Maximo.

Apply critical thinking to challenge, validate, and refine technical content—resolving ambiguity, inconsistencies, and contradictions with other approved documents.

Independently prioritize and manage workload with minimal supervision, maintaining accurate records, providing status reports to document owners, and supporting the ongoing improvement of governance tools and processes (e.g., SharePoint, Jira, Maximo).
Required:
-
Bachelor Degree either a related university degree or technical diploma with two to four years of experience OR equivalent combination of formal education, certification and experience.

4 years of technical or business writing experience.

High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word and Excel.

Excellent proficiency in English with ability to explain highly complex concepts in plain English.

Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality.

Problem solving skills, ability to find the root cause of issues, and troubleshoot them effectively.
Preferred:
-
Oil & Gas experience.
-
Prior experience using Content Management systems and Management of Change (MOC) systems.

Writing experience with engineering and/or technical specifications and standards.

SharePoint Experience to build and maintain websites, document collections, lists, and metadata.

Experience with MOC tools such as JIRA or Maximo.
