What you will be doing:
The Senior Manager, RESL Pricing, contributes to the growth and profitability of Real Estate Secured Lending portfolio by developing, recommending and managing channel-specific RESL pricing strategies, including channel specific rates, programs and specials; maintaining an in-depth understanding of the competitive market for rates and products; managing pricing exceptions and related compensation adjustments.
Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:
- Lead and drive a customer-focused culture within the Pricing Operations team to support the acquisition of new business, retention of existing clients, and deepening of customer relationships, while ensuring pricing decisions contribute to sustainable, profitable growth.
- Partner closely with Pricing Analytics and Portfolio Management teams to develop, recommend, and execute channel‑specific pricing strategies across acquisition and retention channels. Strategies include posted rates, target rates, discretion bands, specials, and targeted segment programs, informed by market dynamics, portfolio objectives, and observed pricing behaviours.
- Manage the day-to-day execution of pricing strategies by ensuring up-to-date pricing is published on systems and portals and communicated to sales channels as required. Develop and maintain excellent relationships with front-line sales teams and manage daily interactions on a deal-by-deal basis as required.
- Lead a high‑performing team responsible for managing pricing exception requests from various acquisition and retention channels, setting clear expectations and reinforcing disciplined, consistent decision‑making. Adjudicates pricing exception requests in alignment with portfolio objectives, balancing volume, margin, risk, and customer relationship considerations on a deal‑by‑deal basis.
- Recommend and implement changes and enhancements to pricing-related systems and processes to improve controls and also the overall customer and/or salesperson experience.
- Partner with Technology and Product teams to enhance pricing‑related systems, tools, and processes, translating business needs into clear requirements while improving controls, usability, and the overall customer and/or salesperson experience.
- Ensure accurate compensation on a deal-by-deal basis is fed through to the appropriate broker and HFA compensation systems, including administering compensation adjustments where necessary.
- Act as a trusted point of escalation for front‑line and regional leadership, building strong, constructive relationships while applying sound judgment and governance to balance customer outcomes with the long‑term sustainability and profitability of the portfolio.
- Develop and deliver training materials to front-line staff as required for pricing-related processes.
Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? – We’d love to work with you if you have:
- Post-secondary education preferred
- 3-5 years experience in the mortgage business and/or management of a large, price-sensitive portfolio or business line
- Lending experience/background preferred
- Position requires excellent judgment and business acumen
